The American Disabilities Act, is specific that Emotional Support Dogs (ESA) are not covered in this law. Disney's policy of "Service Animals" does not seem clear on Emotional Support Dogs. Are ESA's covered?

Hi Karen! Deciphering the rules and laws to just about anything these days gets complicated. The abuse of Service Animals has started to become rampant with many people finding it "fun" to purchase this designation through on line sites. I am a loving owner of two dogs that I want to travel with as much as I can but they are of a breed not allowed to fly in the cargo area due to breathing issues so we just hop in the car and drive across the country.

Disney follows the ADA guidelines and yes, according to this Emotional Support Dogs are not considered a Service Animal. A dog must be performing a special task to be a service dog.

There is a great facility on Disney property that will take dogs for the day or overnight while guests enjoy their vacation. This is the Best Friends Pet Care and it is wonderful. We actually bought a large motor coach so we could bring our dogs with us on our Disney vacations and we stay at Fort Wilderness. But if we need to leave for a day or so we book our boys at Best Friends and it is an outstanding facility.
