    Holly Asked

Hi Amanda, You were kind enough to answer my question on time to visit and we are set to be at the Cabins 2/20 - 3/1. Can you provide any other helpful info, what to bring, what to plan to do? Thanks!

    Hi there Holly,

Are you specifically asking what you should bring for your stay in the cabins, or do you need a list of things you'll need in the parks!?  The cabins come equipped with pretty much all of the comforts of home.  The full kitchen is decked out with plates, cups, coffee pot, pots, pans, paper towels, dish towels, grill tools, you name it, so you really don't need to bring anything!  I always bring my own ground coffee, but I'm a coffee snob. :)

As far as for in the parks, I always opt to bring my own stroller to eliminate the need for renting one in the parks.  I also always pack essentials like sunscreen, ponchos, and batteries... and comfy shoes and sunglasses are a must!  Since the cabin has a full kitchen, I usually either ship myself a box of snacks and goodies or I'll order them from an off site grocery delivery service such as GardenGrocer.com.  There are also two Trading Posts at Fort Wilderness that each carry a limited selection of sundries and grocery items!

You'll enjoy the fact that you can take a small boat directly from the Fort Wilderness Marina to the Magic Kingdom and you won't want to miss the Campfire Singalong and Movie under the Stars which occurs each night at the campground.  We usually pack some smores ingredients as there will be fire rings for roasting!

Developing your itinerary really depends on the ages and interests of the members of your traveling party. I would just take a look at the Disney World website and try to decide which attractions seem the most appealing and go from there!  Be sure to schedule in time for dining and breaks!  It may also be a good idea to see if you can book a few reservations prior to arrival!

Let me know if I can answer any last minute questions! -Amanda F.
