Hi Amanda, I've just read a reply of yours re faddy eaters saying that it's possible to pick up a meal elsewhere prior to reservations at Teppen Edo, can you please explain in more detail how this would work, seating etc, do they still dine with us? Thanks

Hi Debbie! My picky-eating son has provided me lots of fodder for answering "faddy eater" questions here at the Moms Panel, so I'm not sure which of my replies you saw, but I expect it might have been this one

We've generally found Walt Disney World to be very accommodating of picky children. My son has a very limited diet but he's able to order his favorite foods at most Disney restaurants, even when they don't appear on the menu. At 12, he's considered an adult at Disney, but he's always been permitted to order meals off of the children's menu when nothing on the adult menu appeals to him. Other restaurants have modified dishes to suit his tastes or prepared his requested meal even though it doesn't appear on the menu. For instance, The California Grill and Tony's Town Square made him cheese flatbread pizzas without sauce, and 'Ohana, Yak & Yeti, and the Hoop-Dee-Doo served him grilled cheese sandwiches. You should always ask if the restaurant can make your child's preferred meal, even if you don't see it on the menu.

My family loves the restaurants in Epcot's World Showcase, but we've found that they don't tend to have the ingredients on hand to accommodate my son's off-menu requests. For instance my husband, daughter and I love dining at Teppan Edo, but my son doesn't eat the hibachi stir-fry meals and they don't offer alternative kids' selections. Since the rest of my family enjoys dining there, I make reservations for the whole family, but my son just orders a drink and enjoys the cooking show. After we leave, we just pick up a meal for him at a quick-service location. Moms Panelist Bernie sometimes buys a quick-service meal for his son and brings it to a table-service restaurant for him to eat while the rest of the family dines there, but I usually just purchase my son's meal from another location afterward. Hope this helps!
