Amanda, my husband, two boys (under the age of 10) and myself will be visiting disney in november for my youngest sons birthday how do I go about planning my vacation to see everything without being so overwhelmed? please help

    Hi Diane!

Oh my! How fun! So, is this your first trip, too? What an adventure!

I know Disney World can get overwhelming. There is so much to do, so much to look at and (seemingly) so much to plan! But my very first suggestion is to just relax--don't get so into the planning that you forget about the trip! The actual walking through the park, noticing the light-up sidewalks at Epcot, the street performers at Hollywood Studios and each individual animal on the tree of life at the Animal Kingdom is the more fun than making sure the schedule is exactly perfect and you hit every ride.

BUT. I also know how important it is to get the details planned so you CAN notice all those little extras. So, here are my top 3 hints (well, maybe not my top 3 ever, but the first 3 I'm thinking about today...)

    1. Book a Character Meal.
There is nothing more fun than sitting at a nice restaurant and having Mickey or a Princess stop by to say hello and get a picture.

    2. Study the Maps and Website.
Look through the Disney site and read about the attractions and entertainment of each park. Notice what your kids would think is interesting and what sounds the most fun. (ie. do you want to do thrill rides? shows? character greetings?)

    3. See the Parades, Fireworks & Extras. Don't skip out on the extra stuff. Some people get so intent on seeing every single attraction in the park, they skip those fun extras. And usually (from my perspective) the extras have more oomph than the rest of the regular shows and attractions---sometimes they are seasonal so its something you may never see again!

My greatest tip is to just ENJOY! If you have more specific questions about parks, resorts, etc. Please let me know. I'd love to help out more!
