I have always thought being able to do special surprises for people as a cm would be so much fun; then I thought why can't I spread pixie dust to people with birthday buttons or to tired parents and children on the bus ride to their resort. Any ideas?

    Hi Lacy ~

I love the way you think! You certainly do not have to be a Cast Member to spread pixie dusts to other Guests and I think that is a lovely idea!

I like to go to the Dollar Store before our trips and stock up on little bottles of bubbles (the smaller ones people use for wedding receptions). These are great to entertain kids when waiting for parades and fireworks and we give Guests bottles of bubbles of their own.

Glow sticks are fabulous to share. They are perfect for waiting for fireworks. I like the kind you can make jewelry with and little princesses love them.

Disney stickers, Disney trading pins, crayons and little note pads are also popular with kids.

If you are in line to buy water, buy an extra one and turn around and give it to the Guest behind you.

I don't share food items (candy, etc.) since there are so many allergies to food items these days.

Keep in mind that a lot of parents teach kids about not taking things from strangers so I always make sure I ask their parents before I give things to kids or I give it to their parents to give to them. I also let my kids share items with others because it gives them a great feeling and they learn kindness to others.

Sharing pixie dust can also be as simple as random acts of kindness or giving a helping hand when needed. We invite kids to stand or sit in front of us for parades especially those with "1st Visit" or "Happy Birthday" buttons on. If I see a Guest looking at a Guide Map confused, I stop and assist them. If I see an older Guest, worn out parent, or someone with a little one in their arms, I give them my seat on the bus, monorail or boat. If I see a parent in need of wipes for a messy face, I share mine.

Offer to take photos of families. I always tell them to do a "good" one and then a silly one. They silly ones are my favorites.

Wishing you Minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
