    Nelson from Sao Paulo Asked

I have already stayed at the Animal Kingdom and Polynesian. We loved it. This time we are taking our nephews along, so I wonder how is the Wilderness Cabins. Is it good? Do the buses take too long to get to the parks?

Hi Nelson!  I have stayed at the Fort Wilderness cabins and it was a fun and very different Disney experience.  If you like the outdoors you will love being among the pine trees and it is so quiet that sometimes you will forget you are actually at Walt Disney World!

The transportation is a bit different here. You can reach all points of the property using the buses but you must get to the main bus depot using an internal bus or by golf cart which you can rent for about $50 a day.  Of course that is the best way to get around as you are never waiting but it is pricey.  You can also reach the Magic Kingdom via boat launch and the Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge via boats.  Some guests like to take the boat launch to the Contemporary and then the monorail to EPCOT.

The cabins do indeed sleep 6 but it is tight quarters for so many guests in one cabin.  There is a double bed and bun beds in the bedroom with a very small closet and just four small drawers.  The bathroom is ample and the living area has a pull down double murphy bed.  It is nice to have the full kitchen facilities plus you have access to a grill on your deck.  Each cabin comes with two tvs as well as internet hook-up.

Many guests find that the few extra minutes in bus transportation is worth the peace and quiet of this area!
