I, along with my adult daughter, am taking my 10 yr old grandson on his first cruise in Nov/Dec. I am trying to choose between Eastern or Western Caribbean...any advice?

    Hi, Laurie!

It sure sounds like you've got the makings for a fabulous family vacation -- and choosing between the Eastern or Western Caribbean may be like choosing between chocolate or shopping for me! Yet, you really can't go wrong with either Disney Cruise Line itinerary.

Since this is your grandson's first cruise, you might want to show him the two itineraries to see which might appeal to him more. I have four children, and one of my sons is 11 years old. I asked him which he might prefer, and he said the Western Caribbean since it went to more places.

For the 7-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary this year, the Disney Magic makes stops in St. Maarten, St. Thomas/St. John and Castaway Cay. For the 7-night Western Caribbean cruises, ports of call include Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Castaway Cay. My little guy says that he would like visiting different countries on one voyage and having two days at sea to explore the ship. Hopefully, that will help navigate your decision.

Let me know if you have more questions. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
