I (alone!) am taking my 6 and 7-year-old grandkids to Disneyworld for three and a half days. I'm thinking about doing a park a day. Which parks do you think they'd like best and which rides at those parks? They like "cool" stuff but not too scary

    Hello Donna!
From one "nana" to another, congratulations on taking the grandkids to the Walt Disney World Resort! Nothing is better than seeing the Parks and Resorts through the eyes of a child. While it is extremely difficult for me to choose between the parks, I think you are correct to narrow them down due to your short stay. Here are the three Parks I would choose and why:

    1. Magic Kingdom: Cindrella Castle is what most people think of when they imagine the Walt Disney World Resort. Make sure and have a PhotoPass photographer capture you and your grandchildren in front of this iconic symbol. In fact, you should look into purchasing Disney Memory Maker package. With the age of your grandchildren, plan on spending a good deal of time in the new Fantasyland.  A perfect end to this day is the Wishes firework spectacular.
    2. Disney’s Hollywood Studios: With shows such as Disney Junior- Live on Stage, Lights, Motor, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, and Voyage of the Little Mermaid you can't go wrong with a day at this exciting Park. I also strongly recommend obtaining a FastPass+ for Toy Story Midway Mania!.
    3. Disney’s Animal Kingdom: This Park contains two of the most amazing shows I have ever seen- Finding Nemo- The Musical and Festival of the Lion King. Add to the shows an exciting ride on Dinosaur! and the never-the-same-twice Kilimanjaro Safari and you will have another day you will never forget.

There is much more to see at each of these parks. In order to fully plan your itinerary I recommend checking out touringplans.com.  They have a subscription service that can help you plan your trip. If you have more questions, come on back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, we love to help!

    See ya real soon!

I have traveled to the Disney Parks in multiple stages of my life, including as a daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother. While I can’t pick my funniest Disney memory – either my 70-year-old mother on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or my 4-year-old grandson on Dinosaur – I am thrilled to be able to help other Disney guests plan their adventures.
