    Lana from FL Asked

Are we allowed to bring elderberry syrup that is needed to keep cold? It is in a mason jar.

Yo ho, Lana! I am so excited to SEA that you have an upcoming Disney cruise planned. Your crew must be so excited! Get ready for all the magic that’s included on your sailing.

Disney Cruise Line does a great job letting Guests know ahead of time what items are safe for sailing the seven seas and which ones will have to walk the plank. In this case, coolers are allowed only to store medications, baby food, or food items for a dietary restriction. Furthermore, all bottles must be sealed and unopened. So unfortunately, I doubt the mason jar of elderberry syrup will meet these criteria.

Being crafty pirates, I think we can come up with a solution that will be shipshape. Savvy? Here’s Captain Jack’s suggestion: elderberry gummies! I took these on my cruise on the Disney Wonder last week, and they were totally acceptable. Having lots of energy and staying healthy are musts while cruising with Captain Mickey because there are so many amazing activities onboard like character greetings and deck parties and entertainment like Broadway-caliber Disney musicals and first-run movies.

Run up the Jolly Roger if you have more questions. Here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, we “ARRRR” always happy to help navigate the cruise planning waters.

    Happy Sailing!
