Hi Allison! I just read the questioin about a "Kiss Goodnight." What is this and where? Who is smooching? Mickey and Minnie? We are coming in Sept. and would like to see this. Thanks!

    Hi Jaynee,

September will be here before you know it and I love that you're scoping out new things to see and do :-)  September is a great time to visit Disney World.

The "Kiss Goodnight" is a little way to celebrate the end of another day in the Magic Kingdom. It is a short ceremony (approximately 3 minutes) and they play Roy O. Disney's dedication speech along with Disney music while Cinderella Castle changes colors.  No characters are physically present during this ceremony but Mickey does chime in and says "So long everybody.  See ya' real soon".  Its at that point that my husband says "Allison - its really over now - we have to leave" - LOL!

You can hear it all over the park but sadly most guests are filing out and don't even realize its taking place.  Instead of rushing to the front of the park, I like to stop, watch and listen near the Partners statue in the hub in front of Cinderella Castle. I feel close to Walt and Mickey there.  Yes, yes, yes I'm very sentimental.

There are videos of it that Guests have posted on a really popular video website.  Just search for "Magic Kingdom's Kiss Goodnight".

The schedule is usually not published on the Times Guide but you can stop by Guest Relations on your way in to ask and a Cast Member should be able to give you the times.

Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
