    Lisa Asked

At AK. What is the best route to take, especially if wanting to avoid crowds ? Start on the left or the right? Or Should we go staring to safari first or expedition?

Howdy again Lisa!  I LOVE all of the planning you are doing and, on behalf of all of the Moms, I want to thank you for all of your questions!!

The great thing about Animal Kingdom is that it is huge (in fact, it's the largest animal theme park in the world)!  Lots of space for everyone to spread out.  There are a few places where the paths narrow and it's a little tight but just think of it as some bonding time with a few thousand of your new best friends.

Rather than trying to plan your time at Animal Kingdom based on what others may or may not be doing at any given time, make a list of the must do items that you want to experience.  Map them out, take advantage of FASTPASS as much as possible and then enjoy your time to the fullest.  Plan but also allow for some flexibility as you never know when some spontaneous magic may happen.

The only firm planning I would recommend revolves around the parade.  Some of the most important advice I can give you is to plan where you want to be before and after the parade and place yourself accordingly.  Whether you plan to watch the parade or not (it's great by the way), be sure you are positioned strategically where you need to be so that you can make it to your next event in time.  On one of our trips, we watched the parade and then followed it and followed it as we made our way to the park exit.  My kiddos loved it as they felt like they were part of the parade.  For my hubby and I, it was a bit stressful as we knew we had early dining reservations we needed to get to.  We made it in time but since then, we plan our parade spot to ensure we are seated where we need to be to get to the next attraction.

Once again, thank you for your questions and please let me know if you need anything further.  Enjoy the animals and adventures at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park!!
