Do the airport security scanners harm the magnetic strips on WDW tickets?

No. I personally have taken Disney park tickets in my carry-on luggage through airport security checkpoints dozens of times with absolutely no impact on the tickets at all. In fact, my annual pass has been through airport security over and over again, with no harm.

I will tell you that on a recent trip to WDW with my mother, her park ticket became demagnetized several times. In each case, we were able to take the ticket to the park Guest Relations Office and have it reissued. In trying to figure out why she was having such difficulty we learned that you should not keep your park ticket directly against a magnet. As it turns out, my mom had been keeping her ticket in a small wallet with a large magnetic clasp.

Demagnetized tickets can often be replaced, but if you can avoid keeping your tickets near a magnet, then you will likely avoid this problem.
