    Kathy from VA Asked

Will the airport scanners hurt the magic band?

    Hi Kathy!

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this question about MagicBands.

I'm happy to tell you that airport scanners will not interfere with or damage your MagicBands. In fact, in my family, we like to put our MagicBands on before we arrive at our home airport so that we are ready to go when we land at Orlando International Airport! We have never experienced any problems at all.

In addition, if you are taking advantage of Disney's Magical Express, it's important to have your MagicBands accessible (and not in your checked luggage) when you arrive at Orlando International Airport. You will be able to check-in at Disney's Magical Express with your MagicBand, and your MagicBand will be able to unlock the door to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room!

Did you know? MagicBands are also waterproof, so feel free to wear them when swimming!

Please let me know if you have any other questions about your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort; I'd be happy to help! Wishing you a vacation filled with many magical memories!
