My airline charges for checked baggage. Do you recommend just doing carryon luggage or do you usually check your luggage and pay the extra charge?

    Hi Valerie,

I feel your pain!  It seems like airlines are charging for just about everything these days!  I also admire your packing prowess!  Despite all my best intentions to "carry on" all of our luggage, I fail miserably for any trip that lasts longer than 4 or 5 days.  I'll admit, I'm the guilty party in my family.  I can never narrow down the "perfectly-matched shoes" to a reasonable number!   However, if you can manage, I think it's a great option.  This way, even if you chose Magical Express, you'll have your bags with you immediately upon leaving the airport, and can simply store them with Bell Services when you check in if your room isn't ready.  Each Disney resort has coin-operated laundry facilities, and the gift shops sell basic toiletries you can purchase when you arrive if you would like to lighten your load.

One other thing to consider (which I am almost as guilty of as packing too many pairs of shoes) is that Disney souvenirs are super cute and appealing.  One of the ways I "justify" lugging on a huge suit case is that I'll have extra room to bring home my latest Disney acquisitions!

    Have a wonderful vacation!
