Ahoy! We are planning our first Disney cruise next year. We will return on a Wednesday & would like to finish the week off with an extended stay at the WDW property. What are my transportation options to get from the cruise ship to the WDW property?

    Ahoy, and welcome aboard, Karen!

Hooray! I'm so happy to hear that you are hoping to include a stay at the Walt Disney World Resort after your magical Disney Cruise Line adventure next year. Each time my family and I sail from Port Canaveral we always include extra days either before or after our cruise at Walt Disney World because we just can't get enough Disney magic!

The best and easiest way to transition from land to sea and back again is by taking advantage of Disney Cruise Line's optional ground transfers. If you're flying in the morning of the sailing and heading to the port, you can use their cruise transfers from the airport and then after your cruise, hop on Disney's transfers again to take you to whichever of the beautiful Disney Resorts you've chosen to continue your trip. Or just take them one way, if you already have alternate transportation to the port.

Some guests opt to rent cars and drive themselves or hire private transportation, but honestly, it's way easier to just let Disney do the driving, as they'll take you right to your resort. Give the agents at Disney Cruise Line a call at (800) 951-3532 to discuss this. They can add those to your cruise reservation, and they can even book your resort stay and park tickets for you too, making it a true Land and Sea vacation!

Enjoy planning this exciting adventure, Karen, and please stop back again with any other questions as you continue to count down to your sail date. We're happy to help!
