Me again, with a 6&7 yr old, What are your suggestions on dining for lunch in or outside of the parks. My boys tend to get hungry quick & on such short notice. We figured we'd eat breakfast before we go to the parks each day and lunch in the parks.

If we have had a substantial breakfast (like stuffing ourselves Pooh style at a character meal), we will often have lunch back at our hotel when we leave for our break.

Most mornings, however, we have a quick breakfast while getting ready for our day. Sometimes we grab a non-healthy item at the food court such as the fabulous beignets at Port Orleans French Quarter. When we’ve driven to WDW, I’ve been known to pack dry cereal and granola bars which help us start our day. More often though we splurge while on vacation and pick up something appetizing from the hotel’s counter service menu. My husband usually makes the morning run while we are getting ready. I think he probably stops to get his coffee first!

I have low blood sugar so you’ll always find a stash of pick-me-ups in my bag. Granola bars, peanut butter crackers and other quick snacks also come in handy for any hunger pains.  I find that if we’ve only had a quick breakfast that we almost always need to attack our snack bag or stop and purchase a treat before lunch. While this isn’t the case at home, we seem to get hungrier while touring the parks!

At the Magic Kingdom, we like to eat at Pecos Bill, Cosmic Ray’s or Pinocchio’s. As long as there is a hot dog stand within reach, my son’s lunch time hunger and the grumpy mood that comes with it, can be kept at bay.

At the Hollywood Studios, we always end up at the Backlot Express or the ABC Commissary.

At the Animal Kingdom, Pizzafari and Flame Tree Barbecue are our counter service stops.

At Epcot, we head to the Electric Umbrella or Sunshine Seasons since we are usually in Future World at lunch time.

We also always eat around 11-11:30 a.m. (unless we’ve had a large breakfast) to avoid crowds.
