Hi again, if we stay at two hotels, and reserve room only, can we ultimately purchase tickets and dining meals for the full duration of the trip to get the best discounts?

    Hi Mallory,

The Disney Dining Plan can only be purchased as part of a Magic Your Way Package which includes room, tickets and the Dining Plan. You can book "Room Only" at two different resorts and get your park tickets separately if you'd like. If you book that way though, you won't be able to get the Dining Plan.

You are going to want tickets for the length of your entire stay, because the longer you play, the less you pay with tickets. You may want to book one resort for x nights and get the Dining Plan with that and buy Magic Your Way tickets for your whole stay (including the amount of time you plan on staying in the second resort). The Dining Plan, though, has to be purchased per resort. Here is a scenario to hopefully help clarify a rather confusing policy:

Let's say you plan to stay 4 nights in the Polynesian, then 4 nights in the Contemporary and you want the Dining Plan. You would book a Magic Your Way package for 4 nights at the Polynesian including 8 or 9 day park tickets and the Dining Plan. You would get the Dining Plan for 4 nights only (as it is based on the number of nights at each resort). Those dining credits would expire at midnight on the day you move over to the Contemporary. You could then do Room Only at the Contemporary if you'd like and pay for the rest of your meals out of pocket (and make sure you eat the best meals in your first 4 days) or you could re-book the Contemporary with the Dining Plan again. Room Only reservations are great if you already have tickets and don't plan on getting the Dining Plan, but otherwise they are a bit hard to work with. Tickets are good until 14 days after the first day you use them, so those would carry over to your new resort with you.

Hope this helps, but if I can clarify further please let me know. There are a few tricky policies in play here.
