    Tracey from AL Asked

Hello again. We are sailing to Alaska May 2018. I know Disney recommends that return flights be booked no earlier than noon. I can get a "cheaper" flight that leaves at 11:20 am. If we skip breakfast, would it be possible to make this flight?

    Ahoy, Tracey!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! The months are flying by, and you'll be embarking on your Alaskan adventure in no time.

It's hard to say if you'll be able to make an earlier flight since there are so many unknowns about your arrival morning. Unfortunately, there could be something out of your control that prohibits you from being able to disembark the ship to make it by 11:20 a.m. When we cruised on the Disney Wonder from Alaska, Express Walk-Off (a program that allows you to disembark as soon as the ship is cleared carrying off your luggage without assistance) was offered, but scheduled for 8:00 a.m., which is a little later than at Port Canaveral. Disney Cruise Line suggests a four-hour window from the time you leave the Atrium Lobby to your gate at Vancouver International Airport. It may take less time, but it's hard to predict how long U.S. and Canadian Customs will take at the port and airport, traffic from Canada Place and security lines.

Tracey, I remember the most stressful part of planning my Disney Cruise to Alaska was our flights to and from Vancouver. I finally settled on coming in early to enjoy this beautiful city and adjust to the time difference and leaving later in the day after disembarkation so we could experience a stress-free morning and afternoon before our flight. When it was all said and done, I was happy with that decision, and it was a pretty seamless process since we had plenty of time.

Good luck with your plans. If we can answer any other questions, please let us know.
