Hello again Jason. We are considering a trip the first couple weeks of August. Can you tell me more about weather, especially the rain, and the crowd levels? Thank you.

    Hey Jaynee-

I’m so glad to help you again. Going to Walt Disney World Resort in August means getting some last minute Walt Disney World Resort fun for the family before school is back in swing is a great farewell to the summer. I would make sure to pack comfortable clothes that will allow your body to breathe in the hot and humid August heat. August is one of the hottest times of the year. Temperatures will peak in the low 90s and drop in the evenings to the mid-70s. To help keep you cool you may want to bring something similar to the frogg toggs Chilly Pad. These work great! This small towel keeps you cool in the outdoor heat. Also drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and sunscreen to avoid the burn. I would suggest purchasing some inexpensive ponchos for the occasional pop-up showers that roll in during the afternoon. These are not a guarantee but happen often enough to be prepared.

Crowds are going to be heavy during the first three weeks of August as Guests are enjoying the last bit of Disney Magic before schools begin around the country starting the middle of August and continuing after Labor Day. Please make your FastPass+ reservations in advance and look to enjoy air conditioned attractions to take a break from the sun. I love Mickey’s PhilharMagic, The Carousel of Progress, The Liberty Square Riverboat, The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, “it’s a small world”, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, the Hall of Presidents, Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo - The Musical stage shows, Kali River Rapids, The Great Movie Ride, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!, Ellen's Energy Adventure and Journey into Imagination with Figment and SeaBase to escape the heat.

Even with the heat on your heads, your hearts are going to love it.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories!
