For advanced dining reservations have a 1 day cancellation policy, does "1 day" mean 24 hours or just the calendar day before? If I'm putting kids to bed late and realize we'll never make 8am, can we cancel without penalty?

Hey howdy hey, Abra and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thank you for this important question because time is very important at Walt Disney World Resort. Important times are the 180 days when dining reservations open and 30-days or 60-days for making FastPass+ selections and the fact that you can book a Room-Only reservation 499 day in advance at Disney Resort hotel.

Dining reservation can be canceled anytime the day before the dining reservation day. You should cancel your reservation by 11:59 PM to avoid a "no show" fee. Cancelling can be by phone at 407-WDW-DINE (939-3463), online through your Disney account in My Disney Experience, or through the My Disney Experience app. Please note the Disney Reservation Center is open from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM Monday through Friday, and 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday while reservation changes or cancellations are available online all the time.

Disney Dad Tip: I use the My Disney Experience mobile app for everything. Checking wait times and show times, making and modifying FastPass+ selections, and getting turn-by-turn directions between any two Walt Disney World Resort destinations. When I cancel dining reservations an email is automatically sent confirming the change so if I am charged a "no show" fee I will have documentation when the reservation was canceled.

Abra, enjoy making many Magical Memories.
