3 adults, 1 toddler. (To split cost with my Mom.) Is it better price / size of room /value at a Mod hotel (which one) or the Value Family Suite? Trying to avoid double beds. (too small 4 us) What is the best value? Your site is awesome! Thanks!

    Here are your options:

At the value resorts, you will have double beds in all rooms. These standard rooms sleep 4 adults and 1 child under the age of 3 in a crib.

The All Star Music family suites are a great alternative. They provide a bedroom with a queen size bed. Kitchen area and 2 bathrooms. In the living room, you will have a fold-out couch which sleeps 2, a fold-out ottoman which sleeps 1 and a fold-out chair which sleeps 1. In 2008, family suites are  beginning at $184/night during value season.

Moving on to the moderate resorts you will find the standard rooms have two double beds (or 1 king). The exception is at the Port Orleans Riverside which has rooms in the Alligator Bayou section with 2 double beds plus a child-size trundle bed. These rooms begin at $149 in 2008's value season.

For queen bed accommodations, you'll need to move up to a deluxe resort such as the Animal Kingdom Lodge or Wilderness Lodge. These deluxe resorts are comparably priced and not as expensive as the other resorts in the deluxe category.

Your best value will depend on the time of year that you are traveling and whether the type of beds is more important than the resort amenities. I would price out your above options. You'll then have to determine if your family wants the roomier accommodations of the value resort suite or the extra amenities at the moderate resort with smaller beds. If you want queen beds and lots of amenities, you'll have to move up to the deluxe category.

If you are traveling during high season (summer or holidays), you may want to choose the least expensive accommodations as prices will be high. Best wishes and let me know if I can help you sort it out any further.
