Hi we are 2 adults and 2 children. For thecalifornia screaming coasters, can we use the Rider Swap option if one of my kids doesnt like roller coasters? do we still use the fastpass option and then when we get to the front of the line ask for rider swap?

    Hi, Lisa!

California Screamin’ is one of my favorite attractions at Disney California Adventure Park and a must-do for thrill-seekers. It may look like an old-fashioned wood coaster from the 1920s, but it’s really made of steel and built for speed!

Yes, Guests with young children who don’t meet the minimum height requirement may take turns experiencing this attraction using the Rider Switch program, which allows an adult (and older children) to ride while another adult waits with a child. You then "switch" so the second adult can enjoy the attraction without waiting all over again. When my family used Rider Switch for that particular attraction without using the Disney FASTPASS Service, we told a Cast Member at the stand-by queue and he issued us a special pass. If your family does this, one parent and the non-riding child will exit the queue, and one parent and child will stay. Once your party is reunited, the second adult (along with the older child, if he or she wishes to ride a second time) will take the Rider Switch pass through the Disney FASTPASS Service queue to experience the attraction with a minimal wait. I haven’t personally used the Disney FASTPASS Service and Rider Switch option together, but according to a Cast Member, the process is the same except that the initial riders’ wait may be significantly shorter because they aren't using the stand-by queue.

I hope you enjoy your visit to Disney California Adventure Park, Lisa! Please let me know if you have any other questions as you plan your pixie-dusted vacation.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
