With 2 adults and 3 children (7,5,3) I am getting 3 resorts in my search. Port Orleans, All-Star Music & New Art of Animation. Are there advantages to staying at the new resort that looks further from Magic Kingdom?

Hi Kevin and fellow Hoosier! Of the three resorts you have listed I would narrow your search down to two of them and those being Art of Animation and Port Orleans. The Art of Animation resort is in the value category but the new family suites are a real temptation for the larger family. It offers you a separate bedroom and two baths which is a nice treat when trying to get ready in the mornings to hit the parks early. The pools might not have slides but they have added new technology with some fun add ons that make it just as much a super water experience as other resort pools. This new resort does have its own bus and does not share with other values so transportation should not be any more of an issue there then moderates and deluxes.

Port Orleans is certainly my choice for moderate resorts. It is a beautiful setting whether it is on the Riverside or the French Quarter sections. The French Quarter is smaller and a bit more intimate. Your family would be sharing one room with two queen beds and a separate cot style bed for the fifth child. There is only one bath.

For a family of five my suggestion is to try the Art of Animation resort family suite. It is new and will offer more room for all of you and maybe only add five minutes to parks via the bus.
