Hello. I have an 8:00am and 9:00am ADR for Tusker House on a day when the park has magic hours. Which reservation time would be better? How early would you be allowed in if I kept the 8:00am reservation? We are first times to WDW. Thanks for your help

Hi, Carla! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for bringing your question to us. I am not sure if you are staying in one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels and honestly, my advice to you is going to depend on if you are staying on property or not. Extra Magic Hours are a wonderful benefit afforded to those staying in a Resort hotel, allowing them early access to a select park one hour before regular opening or allowing them to remain in the select park for up to two hours after regular closure. My family is full of early risers, so we love to make use of the morning Extra Magic Hours.

Carla, if you are eligible to attend Extra Magic Hours, then I would advise you to use that time to experience Disney's Animal Kingdom Park attractions. You could climb the Forbidden Mountain and explore the savanna all before the later scheduled breakfast. If you, however, are staying off-property and are not eligible to attend Extra Magic Hours, then I would advise you to take the Advance Dining Reservation that is before regular park opening. That way, you could enter the park around 15 minutes before you enjoy your breakfast and then will be ready to hop on your first attraction as the park opens for all Guests.

I do want to caution you to keep an eye on the park's posted hours. They could change in the weeks or even days leading up to your trip. I also want to encourage you to make FastPass+ selections for your favorite attractions, shows, and character experiences. The magic can be endless when combining Extra Magic Hours, FastPass+ selections, and a great Advance Dining Reservation! Please stop by and visit us if you have any other questions or would like more tips for your upcoming vacation.
