We added the quick service dining to our package, and I would like to know how do they come up with the price for quick service. Is it an average of what a meal cost? or is it based on the most expensive meals? does it come to if a paid in cash?

Hi Brandy, The Moms Panelists are not privy as to how Disney comes up with its pricing strategy. However, I can tell you how to judge whether the Disney Dning Plan makes sense for you. The Disney Dining Plan is a flat rate per day. You pay the same cost no matter what you order, given the parameters of the plan you've selected. At a quick service restaurant, you could order a $7.00 entree or a $12.00 entree, and both would count as the same one credit on the Quick Service Dining Plan. The menus and pricing for Disney restaurants are readily available online. One good source for this information is the independent website allears.net. Go to that site, select the Walt Disney World tab, scroll down to dining, and select "the menus." Go ahead and map out several days worth of what your family would eat if you were paying out of pocket. Then average the cost per day. Remember that the Quick Service plan includes dessert at each lunch and dinner, as well as a non-alcoholic beverage such as a bottled water or fountain soda. If you don't eat desserts or will drink tap water, then those are areas of potential "waste" on the Dining Plan. To see if the Dining Plan is right for you, compare the cost of the Dining Plan with the cost of what your family might pay if they were spending out of pocket. The Plan makes sense for many, but not all, guests. In general, if you're big eaters, meat eaters, and often eat dessert, the plan usually makes sense. If you have a modest appetite, are a vegetarian, or rarely eat dessert, you'll want to do some careful calculations. Good luck with your planning.
