We added a dining plan to our reservation but we arrive really late and depart really early and I am afraid we won't use our dining credits on those days. Is there a way we can still use those credits or only pay for the days we need them?

    Hi Sarah,

Thanks for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I am glad to see that you have added the Disney Dining Plan to your reservation, it is the best way to enjoy some of the delicious dining options at Walt Disney World Resort.

Honestly, I think your situation is perfect for the Disney Dining Plan.  Dining Plan entitlements are calculated per night of stay, so if you are visiting for five nights, you will have 5 Table-Service, 5 Quick-Service and 10 Snack entitlements per person, for the length of your stay.  Because you won't need to use any of your entitlements on the first or last day of your reservation, you should have enough entitlements without having to pay out of pocket for any additional meals while you are visiting.  Keep in mind that the Disney Dining Plan is actually discounted so when you are paying out of pocket, it may cost a little more than what you would have paid with the Plan.

I like to plan my time at Walt Disney World resort starting with my Table Service entitlements, and where I would like to have dinner each night.  Because you won't need your entitlements on two days, you could even splurge and enjoy a Signature Dining Location like California Grill, which is two Table Service entitlements per person.  From there, I add in where I plan to use my Quick-Service Dining entitlements and look to see where I need to fill in the gaps and pay out of pocket for any additional meals.

I would recommend taking a look at your itinerary, and see where you would like to use your entitlements.  If you are finding that you have too many entitlements left over, perhaps the Disney Dining Plan is not a good fit for this visit. Either way, I am sure you will enjoy all of the great dining options at Walt Disney World Resort.
