Can I add my children to my membership so I can transfer ownership to them or so that they may inherit upon untimely demise?

    Welcome Home, Kayla!

It sounds like you are doing some estate planning, and I think it's super smart to include your Disney Vacation Club Membership in that planning. There are two ways to add adult children to your Membership, one is as a Beneficiary, and the other is as an Associate. I will happily explain both!

If you would like your children to be able to manage reservations, as well as bank and borrow Vacation Points, they can be added as an Associate on your Membership. This can be done without changes to your Disney Vacation Club deed. As an associate, they do not receive a Membership Card, nor can they take advantage of the perks of Membership. You can contact Disney Vacation Club Member Administration via email with any questions regarding adding Associates to your Membership.

Adding a Beneficiary will require a legal change to your deed. When you do this, your adult children will become joint legal owners on your contract. They will have the same responsibilities towards the contract as you do. Your estate planner or attorney can guide you through the process of adding your kids to your deed. As legal owners, in case of an untimely demise, they will be able to continue to enjoy the Membership contract.

Kayla, whichever option you choose, I think it is excellent that your adult children will be able to enjoy Membership with you! Some of our best family memories are with extended family and friends enjoying our Disney Vacation Club ownership. I wish you and your family the same for many yEARs to come!
