Are there other activities outside of the parks to do like Sing Along at Fort Wilderness. Going for Christmas week and we are avoiding parks Christmas day!! Also what parks would you recommend to go to with less crowds from 23rd Dec - 28 Dec? Thanks!

Hello to a fellow Georgian, Najiha! I love the resort activities at Walt Disney World Resort. I’m always learning about other things to do and experiences to have outside the parks!

Chip and Dale’s Singalong at Fort Wilderness is a supremely fun activity, but while you’re over there in that part of the wilderness, be sure to check out both the Tri-Circle D Ranch for pony or trail rides as well as the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue for a unique family meal with entertainment! For other resort activities, I like to rent surrey bikes at the Boardwalk and ride around the great circle, over watery bridges, past the pool areas and stopping at Ample Hills for Ice Cream afterwards. You can also take your kids to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and complete activities to earn wooden beads. Finish all 9 activities to create your activity necklace (it’s a fabulous souvenir and a fun thing to do!). I would also recommend stopping at Disney’s Polynesian Resort before the sun sets to order a Dole Whip at Pineapple Lanai, and eating it on the great lawn while you watch the torch lighting ceremony as dusk sets. The cultural drums and fire batons make an amazing, short show for the kids!

As for which day of your trip to visit a given park, I highly recommend checking out Undercover Tourist’s Crowd Calendar (you can Google it). It shows which parks are best to visit on a particular day, along with estimated crowd levels on a scale of 1-10. I never visit the parks without consulting it, and for the most part, they are right on! My personal advice is to utilize Extra Magic Hours in the morning, but then park hop to another destination when they are finished. Parks that host Extra Magic Hours can be more crowded on those days. Please let me know how I can help you further, I really enjoyed your question! ~ Lindsey P.
