are there any activities for an 18 month old girl at animal kingdom?

Jambo, Michael! Disney's Animal Kingdom is my favorite park, and I'm so excited that you are planning to visit! Animal Kingdom has many awesome things that your 18 month old will love. Here are a few:

*Kilimanjaro Safaris would be a great attraction to let her experience. You will ride in a safari vehicle as your guide points out several different animals. This is one of my son's favorites.

*The Boneyard is a play area in DinoLand U.S.A. where your little girl can run off some energy, slide down slides, and just play. There is even a dig site where she can discover dinosaur bones, just like a paleontologist.

*The Pangani Forest Exploration Trail has several animal encounters that she might love. We like to take the time to explore all of the trails and spot all of the animals.

*The Wildlife Express Train takes you on a journey through the park from Africa to Rafiki's Planet Watch. Speaking of Rafiki's Planet Watch, I bet your little girl would love the Affection Section! Here she can pet and feed small farm animals like goats, sheep and pigs.

*Character meet and greets are located all over Disney's Animal Kingdom. Goofy, Pluto, Mickey, Minnie, and Donald along with many other of Mickey's friends can be found in the park. Just be sure to pick up a Times Guide upon entering to view their schedules.

*Finding Nemo -The Musical and Festival of the Lion King are great stage shows that she might enjoy. There is music, colors, puppets and lots of fun to be had at both of these beautiful shows.

Don't forget to stop and dance alone with all of the street performers. We love the Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe and always stop by to get down with dancers for a bit. Even if you don't dance, it is fun to watch those who do!

I'm running out of space, but if you need any more ideas or have any more questions please feel free to ask. Have a 'wild' time at Disney's Animal Kingdom!

I am a recent graduate from Ball State University and mother to my 5-year-old son. We love all things Disney and when we aren’t watching Disney films or planning our next vacation, we love to go to touring Disney shows. I also love to cook, listen to music, read books, and paint. With my experience planning vacations and navigating the parks from a single parent’s perspective, I hope to be able to add a little “pixie dust” to your vacation! Learn More About Sarah
