What accommodation are made at Disneyworld for children with cognitive disabilities and confined to a wheelchair?

    Hello, Joey!

As a mom to a Mouseketeer with special needs, I am happy to report Walt Disney World Resort strives to provide a magical environment for all Guests. From accessible queues and attraction vehicles to the Disability Access Service (DAS) which provides a reduced wait time for up to 5 Guests, there are Services for Guests with both cognitive and physical disabilities.

For my son, planning is key. He tours the Resort in a push wheelchair-stroller and has limited walking ability. Knowing which attractions allow him to stay in his chair to enjoy the ride and which ones he must transfer, helps us plan our strategy using Attractions Access Categories. My son also likes a visual schedule and using the My Disney Experience mobile app keeps him on track with our dining reservations and scheduled FastPass+ experiences. A Resource for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a 23-page booklet is full of planning strategies, transportation information and sensory information for each attraction.

I hope this helps, and you find these resources helpful when planning your family's visit. Please let us know if you have additional questions. We are hEAR to help!
