How do I access the fast passes through the app for my 2 year old if we don’t buy her a ticket as she is free?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jessica!

I am so excited that you will be taking your little one to the Disneyland Resort soon! My daughter’s first visit was when she was just under 2 years old and I have the fondest memories of that trip. You are correct that your 2-year-old does not require a theme park ticket and she will also not need a FASTPASS to ride any attraction that offers them. There are currently four attractions that do not have height restrictions that offer FASTPASS: Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Haunted Mansion, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, and Toy Story Midway Mania! So when your family wants to ride one of these attractions with a FASTPASS, all members over age 3 will scan the FASTPASS in the app if you are using Disney MaxPass or their theme park ticket, and your 2-year-old will just follow along with the group. Easy as that! The same applies if you pull FASTPASSES for Fantasmic! and World of Color.

For the other attractions that have height restrictions, don’t forget to take advantage of Rider Switch. This allows one group to ride the attraction while at least one adult waits with the child outside the attraction. Once the first group has finished riding, the adult waiting with the child and up to two others switches with the first group and can ride the attraction with minimal wait. Rider Switch is now also a digital process in which you will scan your theme park tickets to receive a return time and the Rider Switch entitlement is redeemed by rescanning your ticket when you enter the attraction.

I hope this helps clarify things for you! Have a great time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
