We we only able to travel on school vacations, February, April, or Christmas. Which of these would be the least crowded and offer the best deal?

    Jennifer:

Generally speaking, the week between Palm Sunday and Easter (a big Spring Break week this year in April) and Christmas bring the largest crowds to Disney of the entire year. With this in mind, I'd say February would bring the lowest crowds among your choices except for the President's Day Weekend.

As for "best deals," again, Easter and Christmas may find you paying much more than Value Season at the beginning of February or Regular rates after Easter Week. Just keep in mind that if your break is around President's Day, you'll be paying Peak rates until Regular rates begin toward the end of February. Typically a good rule of thumb is that when crowds are projected to be low, room rates will be low. When crowds are projected to be high--due, in part, to school breaks--room rates will be higher. It's simply the rule of Supply and Demand.

When you're looking at multiple dates, I find it helpful to actually talk to a Disney-certified travel agent who understands all of the different rates and the impact of holidays on those dates.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
