    Lorena from MI Asked

Are you able to use the Rider Swap on a ride we have a FP for? Does each adult need to have FP for the ride or can we use one FP for both adults on a ride? 2 adults and 1 child

Greetings, Lorena! You have quite the bit of fun ahead, and I’m so glad you’ve found the Disney Parks Moms Panel for help in planning your magical vacation. I use Rider Switch nearly every time I visit Walt Disney World Resort and I absolutely love to combine it with FastPass+!

When my little family of 4 uses both of these services at Magic Kingdom, we’re usually trying to satisfy my son’s cravings for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. I always make three FastPass+ reservations for this very popular attraction, for myself, my husband and our son.  My baby girl, however, doesn’t meet the height requirements to ride the gentle coaster, so this is what we do: our entire family approaches the Mine Train and requests the Rider Switch Pass. Since we have FastPass+, my husband and son take the FastPass+ lane after scanning their MagicBand and keep the Rider Switch Pass. After disembarking, they find me and the baby and hand off the pass to me. As with a normal Rider Switch, I can take a companion with me (usually my son’s second go-round) in the FastPass+ lane. But by making FastPass+ reservations for the initial boy’s ride, we can get through faster and bypass standby. It’s a great “hack” to use both!

You are correct that you will have to have a FastPass+ for the first adult that rides, but the second rider (after chaperoning the child) will be able to use that FastPass+ lane as designated by the Rider Switch guidelines without having to use the regular queue. I hope you have a fast-paced, enjoyable vacation with your family! ~ Lindsey P.
