About Me

I live in a small town in North Georgia with my darling husband, two clever kids, four crazy cats and a lot of fish. My husband and I have a restaurant and small hotel where we offer Southern hospitality with European charm. I also have a very fun crafting business where I make animal ‘rag’ dolls called Lumplings. My other interest is art so my husband and I have a small business where we make art prints called giclees that we can share the art of our family and friends. And finally, I am a freelance photographer for publications in the Atlanta area and my photos are also featured in the book Eat Like There’s No Tomorrow, written by my husband. I’m an avid reader, ambitious gardener, hopeful baker and I will paint anything that stands still for too long in my house! My motto is that every day is a gift and we must never take that for granted – life is too short not to strive for happiness!

About My Family

I have a truly amazing family that make my eyes shine with pride. My husband, Hans Rueffert, is an amazing chef and has been seen on “The Next Food Network Star” and did a long run of cooking shows in North Georgia. Hans is also a cancer survivor. Although our road has been bumpy with twists that we haven’t expected, he has beaten so many odds! Since, we’ve become mentors to other newly diagnosed patients and their caregivers. Additionally, Hans regularly teaches cooking classes to cancer patients at Piedmont’s Cancer Center in Atlanta. We have two wonderful children who love Epcot, reading, video games and Magic Kingdom to name a few. And we do our best to live happily ever after!

About My Disney Experience

My family explores the wonders of Walt Disney World about twice a year. We always discover something new and love sharing our experiences with friends, neighbors and potential future friends! As our family has evolved, so have our experiences in Disney – we have come with a newborn, potty training toddlers, precocious preschoolers, curious elementary-aged children, grandparents, and of course, friends. We began a new tradition of visiting Walt Disney World after Thanksgiving every year to celebrate the end of my Husband’s cancer treatments – he was still very weak and we learned quickly how to vacation with someone dealing with a partial handicap. My favorite vacation advice is to slow down and take a look around you because for my family, the magic is in the details!
