Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • I plan on buying tickets closer to trip (save up for them)-but does that jeapordize me getting the fast passes I want? CAN I book fast passes without actual tickets on magic band? We are DVC-tickets still go on band?

  • Hi Denise,

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

My family and I have really enjoyed using MagicBands and making FastPass+ selections.  We find it to be really convenient to have our FastPass+ selections made even before we arrive at a theme park.  We are Disney Vacation Club Members as well, and yes, Disney Vacation Club Members' tickets can be linked to MagicBands.

You do need to have theme park tickets linked to MagicBands in order to make FastPass+ selections.  In order to do this, you can use or make your account at My Disney Experience.  Since you are waiting until closer to your trip to purchase your tickets, you will not be able to make FastPass+ selections until those tickets are purchased and linked in using My Disney Experience.  I will tell you that with a little flexibility, I have always been able to get FastPass+ selections that I like, even if I am changing them on the day of our visit.  Also, if you wait until the day of your visit, there are now kiosks in all of the theme parks where you can manage and make your FastPass+ selections.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Denise. Have a wonderful time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
