  • My family has reservations at Vero Beach resort in June but may need to change plans. Would we be able to just transfer that reservation to another Disney vacation around Christmas without a penalty?

    Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

    If you booked this vacation with Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points, because you are modifying your Disney Vacation Club reservation so far ahead of time, this should be quite simple.  If you modify a Disney Vacation Club reservation 31 or more days before your check-in date, and if your new reservation requires fewer vacation points than your existing reservation, the difference in Vacation Points will simply be returned to where they came from - so they will go back to the use year from which they came when you made your reservation.  If you need more Vacation Points to make the new reservation, you can use all of the ones from the current reservation plus adding some more of your Vacation Points.  If you get to 30 days or closer in to your check-in date, you can still modify your reservation; however, any surplus in Vacation Points would go into a holding account.  Therefore, I strongly suggest that you make the changes to your reservation before 30 days before your current reservation check-in date.  To modify your reservation, call Disney Vacation Club Member Services at 1-800-800-9800.

    I called to check on the possibilities of moving your reservation if you made your reservation at Disney's Vero Beach Resort using a traditional payment method such as a credit card.  The cast member I spoke with said that you will be able to make the change in your reservation with no penalty since you are so far ahead of your travel date.  Assuming a room-only reservation, the cast member told me that you can do this with no penalty up to five days ahead of your check-in date.  You can do so by calling (407) W-DISNEY (407) 934-7639.
