Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Hi Kirsten,
A question about Disney dollars...are they given out loose, or in some kind of package? Also...do we pay US dollars for them when we are there?

- Hi there Catherine!
It's so nice to hear from you again!
I absolutely LOVE Disney Dollars! They're a unique alternative to the usual Gift Cards. I find them so much more fun to give as gifts for kids to spend in the parks. It's hard to spend them all though ... you'll find you want to keep at least 1 or 2 as keepsakes. They actually look great framed!
You can purchase Disney Dollars at your Resort Concierge Desk (or any other Walt Disney World Resort Hotel you happen to visit during your stay) or in the 4 Parks and Downtown Disney at a Guest Relations location. This fun, official currency of Walt Disney World is available for purchase in 3 denominations: $1, $5 and $10. Each denomination has a different, themed design and characters on the front and back.
They are sold at a 1 to 1 ratio for US dollars. If purchasing using US Cash you can purchase any amount you'd like. If you wish to use a credit card to purchase Disney Dollars, you can purchase up to $50 US per day.
Your Disney Dollars will be presented to you in their own special envelope. If you require more than one envelope for gift giving, simply let the Cast Member know how many envelopes you need.
Once you have your Disney Dollars, the fun part is the spending! Spend your Disney Dollars all over the Walt Disney World Resort for food and beverage, merchandise and recreational activities.
Thanks so much for visiting me with your great question Catherine!
Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World!
