Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Hello! I know that when going from a room only res to a package (room+tix), it will have to be canceled and rebooked. Is the same true if it were the other way around? Going from package to room only?

- Hi Wendy!
Converting a Magic Your Way Package into a room only reservation works pretty much the same as changing a room only reservation into a package. Room only reservations and Magic Your Way Packages are handled under different reservation systems, meaning that any deposits that you have made will have to be refunded and a new room only reservation will have to be booked. Your deposit will be refunded to the original form of payment you used to reserve your package and typically takes 7 to 10 business days, but could take longer depending on your payment type.
When converting reservations, you want to make sure that you are aware of cancellation policies as room only and Magic Your Way Packages differ. Magic Your Way Packages cancelled before 45 days prior to your arrival will receive a full refund, cancellations made 44 days to 2 days prior to your arrival will forfeit the $200 deposit and any reservation or no show will forfeit entire balance. Room only reservations require a 5 day cancellation notice before any deposits paid are forfeited. Also, keep in mind that if you booked air fare you will be subject to change fees per the airlines policies. I see that your reservation is just a few short weeks away, so be aware that you could possibly forfeit your $200 deposit in order to convert your reservation.
If you used a Special Offer when booking a Magic Your Way Package, be aware that certain discounts may not necessarily convert to a room only reservation, such as the case with Disney's Free Dining promotion which minimum requirements include booking a Magic Your Way Package. I would suggest speaking with a Cast Member or your travel agent to see if your special offer will transfer to a room only reservation.
I hope this helps, Wendy and please visit me again if you have anymore questions!
