Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- We are planning our first trip to WDW and I would like to know what I should carry into the park as far as a purse, small backpack etc.. I have heard you can not take these onto the rides and would not feel comfortable leaving it on the ground.Suggestions?

- Hi Nicole,
No worries! You can take your purse, backpack or other bag with you on all rides and attractions at Walt Disney World. No need to leave them unattended.
Most rides have a pouch or compartment where you can tuck your bags
during the experience. If your bag is too large for the compartment, it
can go at your feet or in the seat beside you. Even on Rock 'n' Roller
Coaster, which goes upside down, you can keep your bags with you in the
netted pouch or beneath your feet. (If I have a bag on the floor, I always tuck the strap around my
leg, just to be extra sure it doesn't fly out.).
The kind of bag that's best to carry really is a personal preference. I usually find a medium-sized crossbody purse is perfect for me, with enough room for my lip balm, small wallet, phone, sunscreen, sunglasses and other essentials. I even carry my iPad with me much of the time, now that the theme parks have free wifi everywhere.
My husband normally carries a string bag or light backpack with room for our rain ponchos, a few snacks, our jackets if it's cooler, and our water bottles. There's always room in his bag for any souvenirs we acquire.
Some of my friends carry the tiniest of purses; others pack huge bags. My family tries to strike a balance between having everything we think we will need without being too weighted down.
I hope that helps ease your mind about safeguarding your valuables and gives you some guidance on how to pack for your time in the park.
Please let me know if I can help in any other way. Enjoy!
