Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • We are planning our 1st DW trip for the end of Feb through the begining of March. There are sooo many options it's overwhelming, what would you recommend? Anything we should absolutly do? Are there any close beaches?

  • Hi Jodie!  Your first trip to Walt Disney World can seem overwhelming, but if you plan ahead, as you are doing, and then allow flexibility once you arrive, it all comes together for a magical experience!

For your first trip, I highly recommend staying within one of the many Walt Disney World Park Resorts.  They are available in several price ranges, including Deluxe, Moderate, and Value resorts.  You will also benefit from the use of  the Walt Disney World Transportation system throughout the parks and resorts while there, which is great convenience.

You should absolutely get everyone who is planning to go with you to make a short list of their "Must Do" attractions for each of the parks you plan to visit.  Make sure that you become familiar with the "Fast Pass" process, and put it to use for those attractions you know you want to experience each day.

Also, consider any special Disney Dining experiences you would like to do, such as Character Dining, and make an Advance Dining Reservation to fit into your schedule.

If you desire to add a trip to the beach onto your itinerary, then you must check out the Disney's Vero Beach Resort.  Located two hours southeast of WDW on Florida's "Atlantic Treasure Coast", it is the perfect location to wind down after your experience in the Parks.  You will be sure to continue to enjoy the fabulous Disney amenities, quality, and service there that you just experienced in Walt Disney World - not to mention the beautiful beach!  Our family loves spending time at this resort and are always sad to leave!

One final note:  remember, you probably can't do it all in one trip!  So, enjoy your time there, and don't stress about the things you can't fit in.  Remember, you'll be able to look forward to planning your next magical trip to WDW when you get home!
