  • Hello, Toni!  Welcome to the Moms Panel!

I would like to first wish you a Happy New Year and hope it is filled with many new and MAGICAL memories!  Looks like you have a bit of a dilemma on your hands based on a past experience.  It's always good to use lessons learned from the past because we've been taught that history repeats itself.  Well, I think I can offer some advice that may change your mind.

When I was little, my visits to the Disney Parks never went over well.  My parents have videos upon videos filled with a little girl in tears.  Whether I was on rides, meeting characters or just sitting in my stroller...I was in tears!  Fast forward many years...nothing!  I now have three boys ranging from the ages of 12 to 18.  They have been visiting Walt Disney World since they have been in diapers.  My video footage in no way resembles those sitting on a shelf at the home of my parents.  My boys enjoyed every trip! The key is to allow for a nap time.  With my many visits to Walt Disney World, I have noticed one common denominator with crying children.  They're just so tired.  Parents want to go, go, go and make sure they get the most for their money.  What fun is that when you cannot enjoy the moments because your child is just too tired.  Take at least two hours out of your day to head back to your resort and rest.  Trust me, both parents and child will be ready to tackle the remainder of the day with big smiles.  The evening will not seem so long and you will still have enough time to view it all.  Bring on your darling granddaughter.  MAGICAL memories are just waiting around the corner.

~Have a MAGICAL day and "SEE YOU REAL SOON!"~
