Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- There are a number of sites stating the All Disney Parks are eliminating the Guest Assistance Card as of 10/9/13. Is this true? If so, why? And will there be accommodations for guests with disabilities? My daughter is autistic & uses a wheelchair
- - Asked by Sarah from Georgia on 9/19/2013
- Hi Sarah! No need to worry! Disney has always been, and continues to be, very committed to accommodating guests with disabilities. Disney will be replacing the Guest Assistance Card on October 9 with a new Disability Access Service Card, which will accommodate guests who aren't able to wait in a conventional queue due to a disability. As more and more guests request accommodations, Disney found it necessary to revamp the program in order to provide a more consistent experience for all park guests while continuing to assist those guests who have special needs. The new Disability Access Service Card will give guests with disabilities a return time for attractions they wish to experience. While the new card will work a little differently than the Guest Assistance Card, your daughter and others whose disabilities prevent them from waiting in the regular line will still be accommodated.
