Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Good afternoon, my daughter age 30. Has disabilities and recently had a stroke in Sept. She has a wheelchair but gets very fatigued at times. How can I avoid waiting in lines for rides. She is going to be with her family of 8 adults and 2 children?

- Hi, Marian! You don't say when your daughter will be at Walt Disney World, so this could go one of two ways. Until early October, she could obtain a Guest Assistance Card, which allows her, where available, to wait in a seated area or to use a FastPass queue. Different attractions have different accommodations, but the Guest Assistance Card will alert the cast members as to the best way to accommodate your daughter.
In October, a new system for guests with disabilities will be put into place. The new system, which will be known as the Disability Access Service Card, will allow you to go to an attraction, and based on the wait time at that attraction, you will be given a time to return. This will allow you to go to another attraction with a shorter wait time and return, or it will allow a guest to wait in an area where they are comfortable until it is time for them to return to the attraction.
The new system also means that if the person with the disability wishes to wait in another area, because the return is timed, they may be able to have other members of their party wait in the queue, then they could meet up again when it's time for the guest with the disability to return. This keeps the guest with the disability from having to wait in the queue for an attraction.
I hope this information helps with your family's upcoming trip!
