- Hi Christy! You are going to have a great trip with your princes! Early December and after the New Year have some of the lowest crowds at Walt Disney World. I was in the World both these times this year and it was fabulous! December and January are the cooler months with temps dipping in the low 50s sometimes 40s at night. But during the day it warms up to the 70s and 80s. This December, the Moms Panel was in the World the week of the 8th and it was actually pretty hot, in the mid to high 80s!
I'm from New England, so anything over 55 is "hot" to me. The great thing about the Walt Disney World pools is that they heat them. If the temperature dips, the heat goes up in the pool. A few years ago, my Princess insisted upon going swimming one night at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It was about 50 degrees. I have this great picture of the parents standing along the side of the pool in winter jackets, watching our children splash and play in the water. It was so cold that steam was rising off of the pool's surface like it was a hot spring in Iceland!
Have a great time planning and a magical trip!
