Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- We are blessed to be visiting WDW twice this year. My 9 yr dd has Mixed Connective Tissue Disease and Juvenile Arthritis. She tires easily and her joints swell and cause intense pain.. Should we get a disability card to make it easier on her? Thanks!

- Hi Lori ~
I had a Grandmother with rheumatoid arthritis and know how painful those types of diseases can be for a person. Disney is committed to assisting Guests with many different types of disabilities. If you feel that your daughter would have difficulty waiting in a standard queue, then request a Disabilities Service Access Card (DAS) for her. If you see that she doesn't need it, you don't have to use it. Here are some details explaining how to obtain a DAS and how it works in the parks. You can also find some additional information in this list of Frequently Asked Questions about the DAS.
It may also help your Daughter if you rent a wheelchair for her. While she may feel fine first thing in the morning, the parks are huge and it may give her some relief to help her make it through the day more comfortably. Here is some additional information on wheelchair rentals in the parks. In case you decide to rent a wheelchair, here is some information regarding attractions for Guests with Mobility Disabilities including those that allow Guests to remain in their wheelchairs or ECVs, those that require Guests in ECVs to transfer to wheelchairs to board and those that require Guests to be mobile to enjoy.
Please feel free to visit again with any other questions.
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
