Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- We are planning a trip to Disney in July. I have a 8 year old son that is a manual wheelchair user and a 4 year old with anxiety and sensory disorders. My questions are: Does WDW still have handicapped access to attractions(IE separate lines)?

- Hi Christina ~
I have a son with several types of disabilities including Cerebral Palsy. Disney has a new program in place to assist Guests with disabilities.
Go to Guest Relations at the first theme park you visit to request a Disabilities Service Access Card (DAS) for each child. They'll ask you some questions so they can best accommodate their specific needs. They will need to be present to obtain the DAS to have their photos taken for the cards so be prepared for it to take a few minutes. Cast Members (CMs) will go over all of the terms and conditions of the DAS and have you sign the cards.
Once you obtain a DAS, you can go to an attraction and see a CM at the entrance to get a return time to enter the FASTPASS (FP) or other alternate entrance if necessary. The CM will fill in the information on the DAS indicating your return time. They determine the return time by looking at the current wait time and subtracting 10 minutes. Your children will not need to be present to get a return time for attractions but they must be present when entering the queue and boarding the attraction. The DAS differs from a FP in that there is no specific return time and no pressure to make it back within a certain time frame.
You can only obtain a return time for one attraction at a time but you can get another DAS return time as soon as you've finish one. FP and FastPass+ can be used in addition to the DAS.
We use the wait time to eat or take a break in a quiet corner in the park. You could also see a show or catch a parade.
Here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the DAS.
I'm limited in space but please feel free to visit again with any other questions. Its my pleasure to assist you!
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
