Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Hello -
We are surprising our kids with a trip to Disney for Christmas. I am suppose to have shoulder surgery within the next month, and I am not sure if I will be out of my brace. Is there anyway that I can get a GAC card or is that not allowed?

- Hi, Maryann! Walt Disney World no longer uses the Guest Assistance Card for guests with disabilities. In use now is the Disability Access Services Card. This card can be obtained at the Guest Services location at the theme parks.
The DAS card will allow guests with special circumstances due to a disability to go to an attraction and obtain a return time, similar to the way a FastPass works. Your return time will be close to the wait time of the attraction - so if the attraction has a wait time of 45 minutes, your return time will be in about the same time frame. This allows you to go wait in an area where you will be more comfortable, get something to eat, do some shopping, or go to an attraction with a shorter wait time. When you return, you will be able to avoid waiting in line.
I hope your surgery goes well, and you are in good shape when you arrive to Walt Disney World!
