Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
I'm a previous WDW visitor, but this year I have a special challenge- I'm now legally blind. I'm not willing to give up a planned visit in February with my 9 year old daughter. Which mod. Or value resort would be easiest to negotiate? Thanks

- Hello there, Kimberly...from a fellow Kimberly!
My maternal grandmother eventually lost her sight due to complications from glaucoma and was
deemed legally blind, so I understand the challenges you are now facing. I'm so happy to hear that you are continuing to plan your February
trip with your daughter! To make your visit as magical as ever, Walt Disney World Resort offers services for Guests with visual disabilities such as Audio Description devices and Braille guidebooks, both of which are
available at Guest Relations at all 4 Disney theme parks. You will also find Braille on signage and elevators.
I think that the easiest Disney Moderate or Value
Resort to negotiate for a Guest with vision challenges would be Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. This is one of the smallest resorts in terms
of physical size and the majority of guest rooms are located within close
proximity to the main lobby building which houses the front desk, food court, lounges, gift shop, airline check-in and arcade.
French Quarter offers fun recreational activities such as the
Doubloon Lagoon Pool featuring "Scales" (a 51-foot-long blue sea
serpent slide), a Pirate Adventure Cruise (for kids 4 to 12 years of age), and a Cajun Campfire. For a convenient quick-service meal, the colorful Mardi Gras-themed Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Food Court features tasty cuisine with a Cajun and Creole flair.
I hope this information is helpful to you in preparing for your
next visit in early 2014. Please don't hesitate to write me back if I can be of further help in any way!
