Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Read about new DASC helping with wait time. 19 yr DD is in a wheelchair and needs to be transferred to some of her favorite rides. Time is not main issue, transfer is. Old GAC allowed 2 consecutive rides to reduce the lifting. Is this still an option?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! The new Disability Access Service (DAS) Card will be replacing the current Guest Assistance Card (GAC) at both Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California effective October 9th.
As I'm sure you've experienced on past visits, there are some attractions where Guests can remain in their wheelchair, while other attractions require a transfer to a ride vehicle. And, unfortunately, not all ride vehicles are created equally. Disney Parks fully recognize that Guests with disabilities have varying needs and will continue to work individually with Guests with disabilities to provide assistance and accommodation for their unique circumstances.
I completely understand your concern about transferring. My husband has paraplegia and uses a wheelchair for mobility, so transferring can be quite a challenge. We have often been able to ride twice on certain attractions such as the Haunted Mansion and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. However, the ability to ride any attraction twice in a row is up to the discretion of the Cast Members and really depends on how busy the attraction is, time of day, staffing and several other factors. My best advice is to inquire with the attendant Cast Members prior to boarding -- be sure to explain your daughter's specific needs and the difficulty of having to do double lifting. I have no doubt your daughter will continue to be able to experience her favorite rides!
