Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- With the new DAS card, do you have to complete one ride before you can get a wait time on another ride? That will seem to really make a disabled person miss out on alot of things if it is one at a time.

- Hi Pam!
I have a son with Cerebral Palsy and we've always found Disney to be a great place for special needs Guests. Over the years, we have grown accustomed to using the Guest Assistance Card (GAC) and were comfortable going to the parks because we knew what to expect once we were there. The Disability Access Service (DAS) Card works different than the GAC. It will hopefully serve Guests on a more individual basis while making the wait experience fair to all Guests. I'll have to rethink our plan for our visits to the parks but I'm keeping an open mind.
You'll need to visit Guest Relations to request a DAS. Guests will need to be present to obtain the DAS to have their photo taken for the card so be prepared for it to take a few minutes. Cast Members (CMs) will go over all of the terms and conditions of the DAS.
Once you obtain a DAS, you can go to an attraction and see a CM at the entrance to get a return time to enter the FASTPASS (FP) or other alternate entrance if necessary. The CM will fill in the information regarding your return time. The Guest with the DAS will not need to be present to get a return time for attractions but must be present when entering the queue. The DAS differs from a FP in that there is no window return time so there is no pressure to make it back within a certain time frame.
You can only obtain a return time for one attraction at a time but you can get another DAS return time as soon as you've finish one. FP and FastPass+ can be used in addition to the DAS so that will help as well. During your wait, you could grab a snack, watch a parade or show. Please keep in mind that there may be some changes along the way for the new DAS system before your trip.
Here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the DAS that may be helpful for you.
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
